The Caran d’Ache Fancolor Colored Pencil collection is designed for aspiring artists that are still learning pen methods.

These wax-based pens combine well enough independently but can also be water-soluble which opens many more chances. Color choice is somewhat lacking, with dimensions from 12 to 40, along with the pens come in a strand.

Visible Attraction

Regardless of being a student-oriented pen, these really produce quite a fantastic color. To acquire the depths of additional brightly colored pencil outlines you may need to make numerous moves, however. Blending is adequate and the fact it’s open to both wet and dry mixing is a wonderful bonus.

The factors can be created to a sharp point (a frequent advantage of wax cores) which additionally aids for fine-detailed places. But, you won’t receive quite the general performance which you see at the other, costlier, Caran d’Ache lines.

Usability and Stability

The design and color output makes them a whole lot easier than other, more lavish sets.

 Caran d'Ache Fancolor Color Pencils

Possessing a buttery texture is a nice surprise to get a wax center since it isn’t a frequent trait. This could have been dull because it makes it a lot easier to disperse color without over-saturating a room.

The pens are comparatively robust and should hold as much as a good quantity of abuse and like other Caran d’Ache places, they take the pencil sharpener rather readily.

Packaging and Display

Alike to most of Caran d’Ache’s other goods, the packaging used is great and truly describes the quality of pencil you are experiencing.  Depending on the size, the colored pencils will come in the different tin or wooden boxes that do a great job of defending the contents and providing for easy access to individual pencils.

The one difference to this is that we have had addresses that some people have got their pencils in a cheap cardboard sleeve instead of a tin.  We have never experienced something like this from Caran d’Ache and can only assume this is directly attributed to the store you are obtaining.

The pencils are covered in a color-matching visible painted barrel with the brand name, type, and color printed in gold on the surface.

You will instantly notice that the styling of the pencils isn’t nearly as effective as in other premium-priced lines.

Value

Being Student or beginner-level pens, these do not have the performance or characteristics of the exotic lines, however, come at a considerably cheaper asking cost. Expect to pay from the mid-price scope for them.

Overall Ranking

Being targeted for a more beginner-friendly team, these do not have the astounding color output, buttery feel, or innovative mixing skills of some of the older sisters.

But, they’re also quite a little less expensive. Considering they’re a wax core, they do better than many.

An excellent stepping stone for individuals desiring to “move up” into something a bit nicer without costing too much.
